iMSPORT.TV – The 53rd World Gymnastics Championships 2025 : Indonesia Arena Venue Guaranteed to Be Problem-Free. The Chairperson of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation, Ita Yuliati, confirmed that Indonesia Arena the venue for the 53rd World Gymnastics Championships 2025, be free of issues. This includes the installation of the lighting rigging.
“Last time, we met with the GBK (Sports and Leisure Committee) and presented the rigging design, and GBK said it was allowed. So, it’s clear because we’ve been contacted by the lighting consultant team that previously built (Indonesia Arena),” Ita said when met in the FX Sudirman area on Tuesday.
“So, we’ve calculated it, we’ve made a detailed design, and they said that because it’s static and with the total load, it’s possible,” she added.
In terms of lighting, the Indonesia Arena is fully equipped and has a lighting capacity that exceeds international standards. However, the issue isn’t just about the brightness of the lights, but rather the limited roof capacity to accommodate the rigging and equipment typically used to supplement the lighting.

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) recommends a load limit of only 2.5 tons. This issue even led to the cancellation of the Indonesia Open international badminton tournament at the venue, which has a capacity of approximately 16,000 seats.
“There are no longer any issues (regarding rigging). Furthermore, with the Ministerial Decree, it has been issued, and the dictum is one of the PUPR’s (Ministry of Public Works and Housing) departments, and its task is to supervise. Yes, (the planning is in accordance), bismillah,” said Ita.
Indonesia will hold the 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta from August 19-25, 2025. Two disciplines will be competed: Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG).
