iMSPORT.TV – The 2025 SEA Games are just three months away. The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi), through the National Team Body (BTN), has summoned 24 players to participate in a training camp. The men’s senior national team will then be selected to consist of 12 players for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
This training camp marks David Singleton’s debut as head coach. Coach Dave is accompanied by three assistants: Andri Malay, Nico Donda, and Ismael. Nico’s name was added at the same time as Dave’s announcement as the new coach
The training camp will begin on Wednesday (September 10th) at the Soemantri Brodjonegoro Sports Hall in South Jakarta. The selection of participants for the training camp was based on observations from the 2025 IBL All-Indonesian Championship, a competition for local players.
The 24 players called up for the training camp feature players who have frequently played for the national team. Several young players are also participating. Interestingly, Ponsianus “Komink” Indrawan is also participating in this training camp.

The senior players called up are Abraham Damar Grahita, Agassi Goantara, Andakara Prastawa Dhyaksa, Avan Seputra, Juan Kokodiputra, Kaleb Ramot Gemilang, Kelvin Sanjaya, Widyanta Putra Teja, and Yudha Saputera.
In addition, there are Abraham Wenas, Ali Bagir Alhadar, Fisyaiful Amir, Hendrick Yonga, Dame Diagne, Pandu Wiguna, Patrick Nikolas, Rio Disi, Adrien Chalias, Arthur Vadel, Dio Tirta, Elgi Wimbardi, Julian Chalias, and Putu Pande.
The SEA Games regulations for naturalized players remain unchanged. Only players who have obtained a passport from that country before the age of 16 can play. Meanwhile, Indonesia has Dame Diagne, as per the regulations.
However, there are reports that this rule could change again. The new rule could see one or two naturalized players appear. Of the 24 players called up for TC, no naturalized players were included.
The 2025 SEA Games will take place from December 9-20. The three host cities are Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla. The basketball tournament will be held at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.
The men’s national team returned home without a medal at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. They were unable to defend the gold medal they won at the 2022 SEA Games in Vietnam. That was the only gold medal for the men’s basketball team at the SEA Games.
