Taufik Hidayat: Change of Youth and Sports Minister Will Not Disrupt SEA Games Preparations
“No (preparations have been disrupted), no, there’s no disruption. We’re still going,” Taufik told reporters after the 2025 National Sports Day Commemoration Summit in Cibubur, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (September 9, 2025).
“It’s not the athletes who are changing, unless the athletes are being replaced. There are no problems at the top; they’re already running, a nd all the programs are running,” he continued.
The 44-year-old Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports also confirmed that the ministry’s roadmap is still on track, including collaborations with external parties.
“The same thing is still going on right now. It was just yesterday that the Minister of Youth and Sports was replaced. We’ll see what I mentioned earlier: what’s been implemented, what’s about to be completed, and what will continue. If this is a good and positive thing, we will continue to carry on Mr. Dito’s legacy going forward,” Taufik emphasized.
