“The only Olympic athlete from Riau is Abiyu Rafi. And he’s being prepared for the SEA Games as a trial,” he said.
Therefore, he hopes the regional government, especially the Riau Province, will pay attention to Riau’s athletes who have brought honor to the region.
“Moreover, Riau’s gymnastics athletes are the only ones from Riau to qualify for the Olympics. And our gymnastics is highly respected by other regions,” he said.
He also doesn’t want other regions to exploit the achievements of Riau’s gymnastics athletes by stealing them from Riau. This would certainly be very detrimental to Riau, which has been developing them from the start.
According to him, if the Regional Government cares about and pays attention to Riau’s gymnastics athletes, he is confident they will be willing to sacrifice for their region.
