Looks Resplendent, Brody Malone Wins Gold Horizontal Bar

iMSPORT.TV – United States Gymnast Brody Malone won the 5th-bar 6th Western 5, FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.

In the final at the Indonesia Arena on Saturday (25/10), Malone collected 14,933, outperforming the Japanese gymnast Daiki Hashimoto who grabbed the silver and British gymnast Joe Fraser.

This horizontal gold harvest is the first for Malone in the world championships. Therefore, he claimed to be very happy.

I’m very happy with the result [gold medal]… I feel the routine is going very well and I’m really happy with that,” Malone said.

Malone during qualifying was in sixth place, collected 14,166 points.

When asked the “recipe” of the surge in appearances in the final, he said that he had improved one of his flagship routines called “winkler”.

When qualifying, I didn’t get the value for the first element called the winkler because my body’s position was a little bit too bent. So, the key this time is to make sure my body stays straight to get value for that element,” Malone said.

I know that if I can keep the body straight and get the value for that element, I’ll be able to score high and it works.

Hashimoto who grabbed the silver horizontal bar claimed to be quite happy. He also brought an all-around gold medal from Jakarta.

“I feel happy,” he said curtly.

So, what is the target of the 24-year gymnast in the future, after winning a lot of gold medals from the Olympics and world championships?

I want a gold medal [other] in the Olympics, both for individuals and teams. Two gold,” he said.

Joe Fraser, who won the bronze, was happy, called the achievement a “big success.”

I am over the moon. I’m very proud of myself and with the team.”
