
iMSPORT.TV – The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) has taken an important diplomatic step by holding an official meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Tuesday (Oct 28). The meeting addressed the IOC’s recommendations related to the visa issue involving Israeli athletes ahead of the 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta 2025.
Led by NOC Indonesia President Raja Sapta Oktohari, the delegation presented a clear and diplomatic explanation of Indonesia’s situation, covering government policy, social context, and security guarantees for all participants. The discussion was well received by the IOC, resulting in a positive breakthrough that reopened communication and cooperation between both sides.
“Our diplomacy with the IOC went very well and produced positive results. We built mutual understanding and found common ground to continue dialogue constructively,” said Okto.

Okto emphasized that transparency and open communication were key to rebuilding trust. “We managed to restore our communication channel with the IOC. They understand Indonesia’s position, and we respect their commitment to non-discrimination. Now the focus is on moving forward together,” he said.
NOC Indonesia reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the Olympic Charter and its dedication to ensuring the safety of all athletes and delegations. Okto also highlighted that Indonesia’s stance reflects its core values of sportsmanship and peace.
“The government’s attitude represents the character of our nation upholding sportsmanship, supporting the Olympic Charter, and continuously promoting peace,” Okto added.
Both parties agreed to continue dialogue and evaluation to strengthen cooperation and ensure Indonesia remains an active and respected part of the Olympic Movement.
