
iMSPORT.TV – The build-up to the LA Olympic Games continues with the 2025 artistic gymnastics World Championships taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia in October.
The championships will bring together a record 80 competing nations at the 16,500 capacity Indonesia Arena marking the first time the World Championships have been held in Southeast Asia.
The star-studded British team has been selected with the men’s line-up featuring four Paris Olympians with numerous major championships medals between them, including reigning World vault champion Jake Jarman (Huntingdon), Olympic vault bronze medallist Harry Hepworth (Leeds), triple European floor champion Luke Whitehouse (Leeds) and 2019 parallel bars World Champion Joe Fraser (City of Birmingham). Ten-time major championship medallist Courtney Tulloch (South Essex) and debutante Alex Yolshin-Cash (Notts) complete the team.
In the women’s team are Olympians Ruby Evans (Clwb Cymru) and Abi Martin (South Devon) competing in her first World Championships, joined by two other World debutantes, the 2025 British all-around champion Alia Leat (Heathrow) and 16-year-old Shantae-Eve Amankwaah (Bristol Hawks).
Jessica Gadirova was originally selected for the team however a recent injury setback resulted in her withdrawal. We’re continuing to support Jess and her longer term journey towards her wider Olympic goals.

British Gymnastics team set for Jakarta Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
These World Championships focus on individual competitions with medals awarded in the all-around and individual apparatus events with the competitions taking place from the 19-25th October. The World Championships the year after Olympic Games consist of Individual and Apparatus competitions only, with team competition set to resume in 2026. Up to six men and four women per country are able to compete, with a maximum of three men and three women performing on each apparatus in qualifications. The top 24 gymnasts in the all-around and the best eight on each individual apparatus – with a maximum of two per country – qualify for finals.
The British gymnasts will gather at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, the home of British Gymnastics for preparation camps before departing on the 13th. The non-traveling reserves will be Taeja James (Notts), Frances Stone (Amber Valley), Shanna-Kae Grant (Leeds), Jonas Rushworth (Leeds) and Reuben Ward (Manchester Academy of Gymnastics).

Friday 24th – Apparatus finals (Men’s floor, pommel and rings. Women’s vault and bars)
Saturday 25th – Apparatus finals (Men’s vault, parallel bars and high bar. Women’s beam and floor).
