Asian Youth Games: Age Criteria for Competing Athletes

iMSPORT.TV –  The organizing committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Bahrain has set age criteria for athletes competing in the event, which will take place from October 22–31.

On the official website of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), It is stated that the general age limit for participants is 14 to 18 years old for 24 sports, in accordance with regulations from the OCA, international federations, and the respective Asian federations.

The AYG Bahrain will be a crucial preparation event for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.

Furthermore, this multi-sport event is also expected to be a platform for developing potential Asian champions who will compete at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

A total of 24 sports will be contested at the AYG, including several non-Olympic disciplines such as camel racing, kabaddi, mixed martial arts (MMA), and teqball.

As host, Bahrain has expressed its commitment to creating a competitive atmosphere that encourages the development of young talent at the international level.
