
iMSPORT.TV – Déjà Vu in Jakarta Gymnastics: Hashimoto and Zhang Renew Rivalry in Men’s All-Around Final. The men’s individual all-around final at the 53rd 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships to be held this Wednesday evening (Oct. 22) in Jakarta promises a familiar scene.
Following the qualification rounds, several stars from the 2024 Summer Olympics are once again at the forefront. Japan’s Daiki Hashimoto led the all-around qualification with a score of 83.065.
Switzerland’s Noe Seifert claimed second with 82.499, while China’s Zhang Boheng placed third at 82.331.

Back at Paris 2024, Zhang and Hashimoto similarly commanded attention Zhang ranked first in the Olympic qualification with 88.597 points and Hashimoto was third with 85.064.
Adding intrigue, Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka who finished second in Paris qualification and eventually won Olympic gold did qualify here but placed only 12th in Jakarta after dealing with a minor injury.
With qualifications now behind them, the stage is set for Wednesday’s all-around final where the top 24 will compete anew for the title.

Tough Contest
In the qualification, Hashimoto and Zhang alternated as leaders across nearly every apparatus.
Hashimoto earned the highest scores on pommel horse (14.133), vault (14.533), and high bar (14.400), while Zhang led the rings with 14.600 points.
Both gymnasts shared the same score on parallel bars, each collecting 14.200 points.
Zhang briefly struggled during his fourth rotation on parallel bars when he failed to complete a Cassina catch-and-release.
On floor exercise, Seifert posted the top score of 13.633, followed by Zhang with 13.566. Hashimoto ranked fourth with 12.300.
In addition to the three, Paris 2024 Olympic silver medalist on the horizontal bar, Angel Barajas, also advanced to the all-around final. The Colombian gymnast earned a total score of 80.664 points.
