
iMSPORT.TV – Several Indonesian gymnasts, along with athletes from other countries, have held their first practice and field test at the Indonesia Arena, GBK Senayan complex, Jakarta. The world’s top gymnasts have begun trying out the venue that will host the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships from October 19–25.
The field test took place on Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2025, and was attended by dozens of athletes representing their respective nations. The Indonesian contingent consists of eight gymnasts — five men and three women.
The male gymnasts are Abi Yurafi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Triwirayuda, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, and Joseph Yuda Hatogat.
Meanwhile, the female gymnasts are Alaris Malika Prakoso, Salsabila Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis.
Gymnasts Hold First Practice at Indonesia Arena Ahead of World Championships
This year’s world championship will not feature seven Israeli gymnasts who were denied visas by the Indonesian government.
Meanwhile, Italian gymnast Asia D’Amato expressed her delight and praised Indonesia’s readiness to host the world championship.
“My preparation is not yet perfect, but I feel ready to compete here in Jakarta. This is my second time performing in Asia, and it’s been an amazing experience. I’m very happy to be here,” she said, as quoted by Metro Pagi Primetime, Metro TV.
The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) officially welcomed delegations of artistic gymnasts who will compete at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta.
Several delegations attended a reception event before the championship, which will take place from October 19–25 at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Jakarta.
The event opened with remarks from NOC Indonesia President Raja Sapta Oktohari, who expressed his joy and pride in seeing Indonesia host this world championship for the first time.
The athletes were also welcomed by Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), and Ita Yuliati, President of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation (FGI).
Raja Sapta said he was honored for Indonesia to host such a prestigious event and extended his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for supporting and facilitating the artistic gymnastics discipline.
