iMSPORT.TV – Indonesian woodball is targeting a clean sweep of six gold medals at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, building on its impressive performance in several international competitions over the past two years.
“Indonesian woodball is fully equipped to win there. We are confident this will be a gold mine for the upcoming event,” said Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, while reviewing the national woodball team’s training in Tangerang on Monday.
Bayu explained that 23 athletes will be sent to the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. The athletes will also participate in the Hong Kong Open as a warm-up before heading to Southeast Asia’s largest multi-event.
Indonesian Woodball Targets Six Gold Medals at 2025 SEA Games Thailand
The Chairman of the Indonesian Woodball Association, Aang Sunadji, revealed that a total of six events will be contested at the SEA Games, consisting of three fairway events and three stroke events, each for men and women.
“If the CdM orders a clean sweep, then a clean sweep. We’re ready,” said Aang.
Bayu emphasized that achieving world championship status is valuable capital for the Indonesian woodball team to confidently compete at the SEA Games.
Previously, the Indonesian Woodball team won the overall championship at the 13th Asian Cup Woodball Championship 2025 in Bogor, with 12 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
At the international level, they also achieved success by winning three gold and two silver medals at the 9th World Cup Woodball Championship 2024 in China, and a total of 12 medals, including four gold medals, at the 4th World Cup Beach Woodball 2025 in Thailand.
