iMSPORT.TV – Organizers have unveiled the official medals for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, featuring a distinctive blend of Thai sports and art motifs.
The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), Kongsak Yodmanee, said the medal designs are aesthetically pleasing, durable, and a symbol of pride for the athletes.
“I am confident these medals will become a symbol of victory and will instill pride in every athlete,” Kongsak said, as quoted from the official SEA Games Thailand website on Monday.
The medal designs also align with the main theme of “Play by the Rules,” a concept that emphasizes the values of rules, discipline, fairness, and sportsmanship.
The design combines traditional Thai striped motifs with a sports arena-inspired frame to reflect the host nation’s identity and symbolize regional cooperation among ASEAN countries.
The 2025 SEA Games Medal Design Combines Thai Sports and Art Motifs
The medal material is said to be durable, designed to withstand impact; the surface coating of gold, silver, and nickel is designed to resist chipping.
Measuring 8.5 cm in diameter and 0.8 cm thick, the medal features the 2025 SEA Games emblem on the front, while the SEA Games Federation emblem and the event’s engraving on the back are featured.
The medal’s background motif features a Thai woven pattern symbolizing the bonds of friendship.
The striped motif symbolizes cooperation, unity, and the sustainability of the ASEAN sports community, and conveys the power of sport to connect people, cultures, and national pride.
Kongsak further noted that the ASEAN Para Games medals, to be awarded at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima from January 20–26, 2026, will follow the same overall design language—only the emblems and markings on the medals will differ.
He added that all medals have been manufactured to stringent standards to ensure quality, durability, and aesthetic excellence.
