Ahead of the 2025 SEA Games Thailand Receives Bad News, FAT Urged to Follow Indonesia's Lead

iMSPORT.TV – The Thai U-23 national team, as the host team, received some bad news ahead of their appearance at the 2025 SEA Games.

The bad news came following an agreement between the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) and local clubs.

Based on the agreement, each club will only provide one to two players for the national team at the 2025 SEA Games.

Ahead of the 2025 SEA Games: Thailand Receives Bad News, FAT Urged to Follow Indonesia’s Lead

This decision was made because the Thai League will continue during the 2025 SEA Games.

This differs from other leagues in Southeast Asia, which have been suspended, including the Super League.

The I-League, as the operator, will suspend the Super League for 16-18 days leading up to the 2025 SEA Games.

This is an advantage for the Indonesian U-23 national team, which is aiming to defend its gold medal.

Not only Indonesia, but also Vietnam and Malaysia will also suspend their domestic competitions during the 2025 SEA Games.

Facing this reality, the FAT is being asked to follow the lead of these three countries.
