iMSPORT.TV – China’s Trio Wins the Final Gymnastics at the World Games 2025. The Dong’an Lake Gymnasium came alive once again as Chinese gymnasts lit up the floor in the Aerobic Dance and Trio finals, closing the gymnastics competition in Chengdu with China capturing the last gold medal in the Aerobic Gymnastics Trio event.

China’s Trio of Fan Siwei, Zhang Qingzhou and Wang Zhenhao put on a stellar performance with a difficulty that had a clear edge over their competitors to earn them a score of 20.500 from the judges and the final gold medal in the gymnastics competition in Chengdu. Zhang doubles in the Dance event, underscoring his pivotal role in China’s aerobic programme. Together with Wang Zhenhao he was also part of the trio who won the gold medal at last year’s world championships in Pesaro, Italy.

Italy’s Trio of Sara Cutini, Davide Nacci and Francesco Sebastio took the silver medal, matching their performance at the last World Games in Birmingham (USA).

Bronze went to the Bulgarian Trio of Hristo Manolov, Lina Gavrilova and Antonio Papazov.

Hungary keeps World Games title in Aerobic Dance

In the Dance competition only artistry and execution are considered by the judges, making the show element all the more important. Reigning world and World Games champions Hungary (Antonia König, Zoltan Locsei, Fruzsina Fejer, Anna Makranszki, Vanessza Ruzicska, Tünde Himmel, Kamilla Goda and András Agoston Mikulecz). Hungary stunned the sport in 2024 with their Nutcracker-inspired routine, a masterpiece choreographed by two-time world champion Daniel Bali. With the same core group returning, Hungary kept the standard high with top-quality execution and original chess-themed leotards.

It’s really special for us,” said Andras Mikulecz after the victory. “It represents all the work we have done over the last months and years since we started Aerobic Gymnastics.”

Korea has form in the Dance competition and their group (Lee Junkyu, Koh Eunbyeol, Kim Minhyeok, Kim Eungsoo, Kim Hyeogjin, Jung Sungbo, Park Hyewon and Jeong Sungchan) combined some new, younger talent like Jeong, Park and Jung with experienced colleagues such as Lee and Kim Eungsoo. They brushed up their execution for the final, picking up 1.50 extra points with their Star Wars-themed routine to earn the group the silver medal.

China (Liang Weijun, He Yushu, Chen Hongji, Tuo Shuyi, Huang Chengkai, Teng Hao, Zhang Qingzhou and Xu Tong) had looked like a medal contender through the qualifications. Backed by one of the biggest and most vocal audiences of the entire gymnastics competition in the 18,000 seat arena, the dragon-emblazoned group notched up an extra 0.05 points over their qualification to finish 0.200 points behind Korea to take the bronze medal.
