iMSPORT.TV – The Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Raja Sapta Oktohari, stated that President Prabowo Subianto fully supports national athletes in achieving success in various international sporting events to be held later this year.

This was conveyed by Okto while attending the 2025 Olympic Day commemoration in Jakarta on Sunday.

We received good news directly from the President last night, that Indonesia’s enthusiasm is to win all the trophies on offer in global competitions,” said Oktohari.

He explained that several international sporting events will soon take place, from October to the end of this year.

Starting with the World Championship in Gymnastics. After that, there are the Asian Youth Games. They coincide because they both start on October 19th. Then there are the Islamic Solidarity Games,” said Okto.

So, the Asian Youth Games are in Bahrain on October 19th. The Islamic Solidarity Games are in Riyadh on November 7th. And then there are the SEA Games in December,” he continued.

President Prabowo’s support for national athletes competing in international events is a breath of fresh air after it was revealed at the end of September that funding remained a serious issue.

At the time, Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir stated that the available budget for the Indonesian contingent to participate in the SEA Games was only Rp 10 billion.

With a budget of Rp 10 billion, Indonesia could only send approximately 120 athletes to compete in the Thailand SEA Games, according to existing calculations.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Erick had met with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to discuss budget synchronization.
