
iMSPORT.TV – The 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG) Organizing Committee has officially added pencak silat and kurash to the list of sports being contested, increasing the total number of sports from 24 to 26.
As reported by News of Bahrain on Monday, Yusuf Duaij, Chairman of the AYG 2025 Executive Committee, announced while receiving a visit from Indonesian Pencak Silat Head Coach, Teddy Suratmadji, along with his entourage and representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Bahrain, at the organizing committee headquarters in Seef, Bahrain.
The meeting was also attended by AYG Sports Director Lounes Madene.
Pencak Silat Officially Added to the 2025 Asian Youth Games
Duaij stated that his team warmly welcomed the presence of the Indonesian pencak silat team. The committee is committed to preparing and holding pencak silat competitions to the highest standards.
According to him, pencak silat is a valuable addition to this multi-sport event, given its growing popularity in Asia.
As scheduled, the pencak silat competitions will be held earlier on October 19-20, before the official AYG 2025 takes place on October 22-31 in Bahrain.
