The 2025 Asian Youth Games : Opening Ceremony Venue Confirmed

iMSPORT.TV – ‘The Asian Youth Games’ grand commencement will take place indoors for the first time at the Exhibition World Bahrain on 22 October, Deputy Chairman of the nation’s Olympic Committee, Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, confirmed last week.

Diverging from the traditional outdoor settings of previous editions, which were held in Singapore in 2009 and China in 2013, the ceremony will feature a variety of performances, details of which will be announced later, and promises to be exceptional, showcasing a Bahraini flair to convey a message from the youth of Bahrain to their Asian counterparts.

The EWB, inaugurated in November 2022 in the Sakhir region, is one of the newest and largest exhibition centres in the Middle East. Spanning an impressive 149,000 cubic meters, it features a main exhibition hall with a seating capacity of approximately 4,000, as well as with modern meeting rooms and various service facilities.

As Bahrain prepares to showcase its hospitality and commitment to youth sports, the anticipation builds for an unforgettable event that promises to inspire and unite young athletes from across Asia.

The 2025 Asian Youth Games : Opening Ceremony Venue Confirmed

The Gulf nation took over hosting duties from Uzbekistan last December, after venues in the Uzbek capital were delayed in construction.

As this edition will serve as a selection stage for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the Olympic Council of Asia opted to move the venue instead of postponing the event.

The Middle Eastern state proved its readiness in May and was given the go-ahead from visiting officials, who toured the 16,000-seater Bahrain National Stadium, which will host all the track and field events.

They also had a chance to inspect Isa Sports City, where table tennis and volleyball will be held.

Bahrain is now set to welcome athletes aged 14 to 17 from 43 countries between 22-31 October, who will compete in 21 sports, including futsal, camel racing, kabaddi and teqball.
