The 2025 SEA Games Indonesian Aquatics Targets at Least Three Gold Medals

iMSPORT.TV –   The Indonesian Aquatics Board (PB AI) is targeting athletes to win at least three gold medals at the 2025 SEA Games to maintain their achievements at the 2023 SEA Games.

We hope the previous gold medalists (at the 2025 Cambodia SEA Games) can defend their medals again (at the 2025 SEA Games),” said PB AI Daily Chair Harlin Rahardjo when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

At the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games, Indonesian swimming contributed three gold medals, won by athletes Janis Rosalita Suprianto in the 100-meter surface relay, and Harvey Hubert Marcel Hutasuhut in the 100-meter Bi Fins.

Swimmers won the third gold medal: Harvey Hubert Marcel Hutasuhut, Josephine Christabel Suryanto/Kaisar Hansel Putra Franciscus/Ressa Kania Dewi.

Harlin stated that his team wants to maintain the gold medal while awaiting breakthroughs from younger swimmers.

Young swimmers like Adelia Cantika and Michelle Fang also have hope (of winning gold at the 2025 SEA Games),” he said.

Furthermore, Harlin explained that the Indonesian Olympic Committee (PB AI) continues to prepare athletes to achieve their best in Thailand.

Athlete preparation has been carried out through training camps for several athletes since early 2025 and will continue in full force in September.

The athletes have also undergone competitive trials and participated in world championships. Furthermore, there will be further international competitions before the 2025 SEA Games.

Harlin stated that, in addition to preparing athletes domestically, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (PB AI) also continues to monitor the progress of athletes training abroad, such as in the United States and Germany.

He added that a promotion and relegation process is implemented throughout the athlete preparation process to identify the best talents ready to represent the Indonesian nation in Southeast Asia’s largest multi-sport event.
